1918 Influezna Karori Project

The 1918 Influenza Karori Project was the catalyst for Friends of Karori Cemetery. Project coordinator Barbara Mulligan lead a team of volunteers to undertake various projects leading up to the centenary of the epidemic, and their work is recorded on the following website.

“This 2-year project, which began in November 2016, is restoring and remembering those who died, cleaning and tidying their plots, cleaning their headstones, and researching the family histories in order to raise their profile for the centenary of the epidemic in November 2018.”
