As a community-based charity, we want to ensure that our community is safe. We recommend the wearing of masks and social distancing on our tours . We will continue to assess these requirements and adjust as the Framework changes.
We are a group of volunteers who seek to promote public interest in the Cemetery which is the second largest in New Zealand covering 100 acres.
It is the largest cemetery in New Zealand by number of interments, containing more than 85,000 people within its boundaries. Six New Zealand Prime Ministers have been buried here, along with many of Wellington’s Mayors and other dignitaries, business leaders, women of significance, service personnel, local characters and many others.
